"Diamonds are a girl's best friends!"
Introduce me to a girl who doesn't go weak in the legs at the mention of diamonds and I will personally escort her off Planet Earth. In fact why just diamonds and why just girls, Women (I pride myself in entering that category now) love every kind of jewellery. Its like the compensation of just one Ian Somerhalder or just one George Clooney. Who does not like jewels? Any kind, be it rings or earrings, Bangles or cuffs, diamonds or impure brass and other metal.
Buying jewellery is a very very very easy task. All you have to do is picture the outfit you would wear a particular piece with. Wearing a necklace is about the neck of your outfit. You can wear a choker necklace with a closed or halter neck blouse or dress. or you can wear it with a deeper neckline and a blazer. The best thing about neck-pieces is that they instantly perk up the whole outfit. You can wear the simplest outfit from your wardrobe and brighten it up with a cool necklace. So here is a chart to consult whenever you need to. I am getting it printed and pasting it on the wall of my closet!! ^_^
Earring are also great statement jewels which I also wrote about in the previous post on the fashion tab. Though it is in Indian outfits' context, there's not much difference in the way they should be worn. Too much bling is not a good idea (we don't want people to have to wear sunglasses to look at us, do we). Bangles are an evergreen trend and these days there are piles of cuffs and bracelets available in the markets. I have a lot of such cuffs from roadside vendors in CP, Delhi. Brass is a very good looking candidate in this category and pretty pocket friendly too. The best thing is that since Black and Gold is a B-E-A-utiful combination, brass fulfills that need of your wardrobe.
Icing is just one of those every person's best friends when it comes to jewellery. You can wear a crystal just about anywhere and with anything. Just keep it light if your outfit is all shiny and bright.
Statement rings area hot trend these days if you like wearing them. I am a ring lover and have a whole collection of silver rings, black metal and brass rings. You can wear rings with a bunch of bracelets covering your wrists or you can wear them with nothing on the wrist, they will not clash with any look. Its, however, best to match them up and make sure they look good with your handbags or clutches, specially the clutches. All they'll do is glam up your whole look.
I believe in what Coco Chanel says- "Fashion is Architecture: it is a matter of proportions."
You will be able to create the perfect look by balancing whatever you wear. Too much of even the most beautiful pieces in the World will look like you're trying too hard. Don't do that. Create a balance in the things you wear and you're already the most beautiful women in your own dimension!!
